XUE Lan

Cheung Kong Chair Distinguished Professor and Dean of Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University, China

XUE Lan is a Cheung Kong Distinguished Chair Professor and Dean of Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University, where he serves as Director of the Institute for AI International Governance and of the Global Institute for Sustainable Development Goals. Xue’s interests include science, technology and innovation policy; crisis management; and global governance. In China, he is a member of the National Committee for Strategic Consultation and Comprehensive Review, Chair of the Expert Committee on the Governance of New Generation Artificial Intelligence, and a member of the Standing Committee of Chinese Association of Science and Technology. Internationally, Xue serves on the UN Committee of the Experts on Public Administration and the Sustainable Development Solution Network’s board. He is an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University and a non-resident senior fellow of the Brookings Institution. Xue has received the National Medal of Innovation Excellence, the Distinguished Contribution Award from the Chinese Association of Science and Technology Policy, and the Fudan Distinguished Contribution Award for Management Science.
